Who We Are
The name “bluer” comes from our desire to be authentic and genuine; truer than true blue: bluer. We feel that the world is looking for something real and that we are never more real than when we are connected with our creator in authentic communion with Him and with other followers of Jesus.
In the same way God displayed his love for us through his son Jesus, we desire to display God’s love to the world as his church.
The Church was never intended to be a destination or arrival point. Rather the church, those gathered who belong to God, is to be God’s tool, his vehicle through which his love, grace and power could be expressed.
- We believe that the church should be a pathway, a method of transmission for people to experience God and grow in him.
- By Jesus, God showed his love for the world so that the world can experience and know God.
- By our love for one another, people would experience God in genuine community
- By our love for others, people will experience the grace of God.
- By the Holy Spirit, God enables normal people to experience the power of God.
- By our serving our community, those wandering without God will experience God’s love.
- By worship, people gathered together can experience God’s presence.
- By the foolishness of preaching, people can experience the truth of God and be transformed.
As a church, our gathering together should not be the “end-all-be-all” of our expression of Christian community. We are not a destination; we are merely one vehicle in the Kingdom of God yielding to God for the sake of our world.
Visiting Bluer
We know that it is not an easy thing to visit a new church: you go to a strange new building and meet strange new people who have strange new ways of doing church. Sometimes the whole experience can be overwhelming. We know. We’ve been there.
When you visit Bluer, we won’t ask you to stand up and give your name or raise your hand - being a stranger in strange land is uncomfortable enough. We want you to feel welcomed and at home, so we try to create an atmosphere that is friendly, casual, and simple. It is our hope that during your visit with us you will experience God through His people and through His presence. That’s it.
The “Expectations” sign has been turned off. Feel free to move about the cabin.
